Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

ES Nature International Trading Company Limited was fined $440,000 at the Fanling Magistrates' Courts today (February 24) for violating the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on April 5, 2025, at a warehouse in Fanling. A worker, while engaged in demolishing a full-height wooden partition inside the warehouse, fell from a foldable wooden ladder and sustained a head injury. He was sent to hospital and passed away 18 days later.
