CSSA caseload for January 2026

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in January showed a rise of 410 cases, representing an increase of 0.2 per cent compared with that of December 2025, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (February 20).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of January stood at 194 260 (see attached table), with a total of 256 537 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low-earnings cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.1 per cent to 1 274 cases. Both permanent disability cases and single parent cases dropped by 0.2 per cent to 16 348 cases and 17 948 cases respectively.

     Ill-health cases registered an increase of 0.4 per cent to 28 134 cases. Both old age cases and unemployment cases increased by 0.3 per cent to 111 342 cases and 15 281 cases respectively.
