Special traffic arrangements for Hong Kong Well-wishing Festival 2026

     The Police announced today (February 16) that special traffic arrangements will be implemented in the area of Tolo Highway and Lam Tsuen in Tai Po from February 17 to March 3, to facilitate the holding of Hong Kong Well-wishing Festival 2026 at Lam Tsuen during the Lunar New Year period.

     Lam Tsuen Heung Kung Sho Road between Pai Lau and Lam Tsuen Valley Committee will be closed and pedestrianised daily from 7am to 7pm from February 17 to March 3. 

     The Police will implement traffic control measures in phases to restrict vehicles from using Lam Kam Road and Lam Kam Road Interchange. Depending on the traffic and crowd conditions, the following arrangements will be implemented:

     From February 17 to March 1, vehicles heading for southbound Lam Kam Road should travel along the nearside lane of northbound Tolo Highway outside Ma Wo and Lam Kam Road Interchange, except for franchised buses, coaches, green minibuses, taxis and vehicles with a permit.

     Tai Po Tai Wo Road leading to northbound Tolo Highway will be closed daily from 10am to 6pm from February 17 to March 1. Vehicles along Tai Po Tai Wo Road heading for southbound Lam Kam Road will be diverted via southbound Tolo Highway, slip road, westbound Tai Po Road – Yuen Chau Tsai, the Kwong Fuk roundabout, eastbound Tai Po Road – Yuen Chau Tsai, slip road, the nearside lane of northbound Tolo Highway and Lam Kam Road Interchange.

     Vehicles cannot enter southbound She Shan Road from southbound and northbound Lam Kam Road daily from noon to 6pm from February 17 to March 1.

     The Police will continue to enforce traffic regulations during the Lunar New Year period. During the implementation of the special traffic arrangements, motorists are urged to exercise patience and tolerance, and to take heed of instructions of the police officers on site.
