Proprietor fined for violation of safety legislation

     China Aircraft Services Limited was fined $440,000 at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts today (January 28) for violating the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulation. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
      
     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on February 6, 2024, at Hong Kong International Airport. While a tractor was towing an aircraft on a taxiway, a worker on the tractor fell to the ground and was hit by the aircraft being towed. The worker sustained serious injuries and passed away on the same day.
