LCSD public service arrangements during Chinese New Year holidays

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (January 27) that its non-fee charging outdoor recreation and sports facilities in parks and playgrounds will remain open during the Chinese New Year holidays. The opening arrangements for other facilities from Chinese New Year's Eve to the third day of the Chinese New Year (February 16 to 19) are listed in the attachment. All facilities will resume normal operations on the fourth day of the Chinese New Year (February 20).

     The SmartPLAY website (www.smartplay.lcsd.gov.hk/home) and mobile app (My SmartPLAY App), the URBTIX website (www.urbtix.hk), the mobile ticketing app URBTIX, as well as the telephone booking hotline 3166 1288 and the ticketing enquiries and customer service hotline 3166 1100 (from 10am to 8pm daily), will maintain normal services.

     System maintenance work of public libraries will be carried out from 12.30am on February 17 to 11.59pm on February 19, during which the following services will be suspended:
  • library mobile app services and Internet and telephone renewal services;
  • other online library services, including the library catalogue, borrowers' record enquiries, reservation of library materials and computer facilities and electronic resources;
  • self-service library stations; and
  • the function of real-time loan record updates of smart book drops and smart book returns (readers may still return library materials to the smart book return facilities, and the loan record will be updated within two working days).
