The Education Bureau (EDB) is participating in the Education & Careers Expo 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from today (January 22) for four consecutive days, with an exhibition booth and a seminar.

The Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, officiated at the opening ceremony. Noting that the Expo is entering its 35th edition, Dr Choi said the event has been offering comprehensive and timely information on further education and career opportunities over the years, which dovetails with the Government's commitment to creating flexible, diversified learning pathways with multiple entry and exit points for all. Through vocational and professional education and training, the EDB encourages young people to choose educational and career paths that suit their unique strengths and passions. The Government will continue to promote universities of applied sciences, life planning education and the Business-School Partnership Programme, among others, for students at different stages of their studies, and equip them with multifaceted and coherent support for planning further studies and career pursuits, with a view to nurturing the professional and skilled talent essential for Hong Kong's continued growth.

Dr Choi then visited the EDB's booth that introduces different professional grades of the bureau to enhance the public's understanding, especially students and jobseekers, of the career opportunities in the EDB. She encouraged all those wishing to develop their careers in the education sector to join the EDB in driving quality school education for students.

The EDB's booth introduces the career information of different professional grades of the EDB, including Education Officer (Secondary School Teacher), Primary School Master/Mistress, Inspector (Graduate), Education Officer (Administration), Specialist (Education Services) and Speech Therapists in government schools. Apart from the above, it also showcases the important work accomplished by the EDB in promoting quality education in Hong Kong. The EDB welcomes the public to visit the booth.

The EDB will hold a seminar themed "Advancing and Embracing Opportunities with Professionalism in Education, Cultivating Core Values Through Upholding Integrity and Driving Innovation" at the Open Forum, Hall 1E, from 12.45pm to 1.15pm tomorrow (January 23) to introduce the scope of work and career development of the professional grades. Officers of respective grades and heads of government schools will share how they contribute with their specialised and all-round roles in pursuing the mission and vision of the EDB.

The Education & Careers Expo 2026 is held at Halls 1D and 1E of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Admission is free. The EDB's booth is located at Hall 1E (Booth 1E-A10). Opening hours are from 10am to 7pm from today to January 24, and from 10am to 6pm on January 25. Souvenirs are distributed at the booth while stocks last.
