Temporary traffic and public transport arrangements at Lung Cheung Road this Saturday night to facilitate footbridge demolition works

     The Transport Department (TD) today (January 21) reminded the public that the following temporary traffic and public transport arrangements will be implemented in phases at the westbound carriageway of the section of Lung Cheung Road between Hammer Hill Road and Po Kong Village Road (near Plaza Hollywood) and nearby roads in the area from 11pm this Saturday (January 24) to 5.30am the following day to facilitate footbridge demolition works:

Temporary traffic arrangements

(A) Road closures

     The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic at the times specified below:

  1. The section of fast lane from Kwun Tong Road westbound near Kai Yip Estate to Lung Cheung Road westbound near Po Kong Village Road
  2. The section of fast lane of Lung Cheung Road eastbound between Shatin Pass Road and Diamond Hill (Choi Hung Road) Public Transport Interchange
From 0.00am to 5.30am this Sunday (January 25)
  1. The section of middle lane of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Tai Hom Substation and Po Kong Village Road
  2. The section of middle lane of Lung Cheung Road eastbound between Tropicana Gardens and Diamond Hill (Choi Hung Road) Public Transport Interchange
From 1am to 5.30am this Sunday (January 25)
  1. All three lanes of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Hammer Hill Road and Po Kong Village Road
  2. The slip road leading from Choi Hung Road eastbound to Lung Cheung Road westbound
  3. The slip road leading from Lung Cheung Road westbound to Po Kong Village Road

(B) Traffic diversion

     During the full closure of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Hammer Hill Road and Po Kong Village Road (1am to 5.30am this Sunday), the corresponding eastbound carriageway of Lung Cheung Road will be temporarily converted into two-way traffic and the following traffic diversion will be implemented:
 
  • Vehicles on Choi Hung Road eastbound via the slip road heading for Lung Cheung Road westbound will be diverted via Hammer Hill Road northbound, roundabout, Hammer Hill Road southbound, Choi Hung Road westbound, Po Kong Village Road northbound and Lung Cheung Road westbound;
  • Vehicles on Lung Cheung Road westbound via the slip road to Po Kong Village Road will be diverted via slip road, roundabout, Choi Hung Road westbound and Po Kong Village Road northbound.

Temporary public transport arrangements

     To facilitate the above full closure of Lung Cheung Road westbound, bus and green minibus (GMB) routes passing through the closed road sections will be temporarily diverted, and the associated bus and GMB stops will be relocated as follows:

Temporarily diverted via slip road, roundabout, Choi Hung Road westbound and Po Kong Village Road northbound before resuming its original routing on Lung Cheung Road westbound
  1. The stopping point for bus and GMB routes located on Lung Cheung Road westbound near Diamond Hill MTR Station Exit B will be temporarily relocated to Choi Hung Road westbound near Rhythm Garden.
  2. The stopping point for KMB route no. 268C located at Diamond Hill (Choi Hung Road) Public Transport Interchange will be suspended temporarily.

     The public transport operators concerned will display notices to advise passengers on the above special arrangements.

     Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on-site to guide motorists. Motorist should exercise patience and drive with care, pay attention to the traffic diversion arrangements and follow the instructions of the Police on-site.

     Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow sufficient travelling time, and stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media or the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility" or website (www.td.gov.hk).
