Fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

At 8.37am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Ma Sik Road towards Fanling. When approaching Tin Ping Road, it reportedly knocked down the 55-year-old woman who was riding a bicycle.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.17am.
The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is under way.
