To mark the Hong Kong Trail's 40th anniversary, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) launched a hiking challenge encouraging hikers to explore the trail's biodiversity and history by collecting e-badges at eight checkpoints for prizes, which has so far attracted over 7 400 people.

     Representatives from the AFCD spoke to News.gov.hk about the trail's scenery, biodiversity, history and cultural highlights, while a resident and a visitor shared their experiences of hiking on the trail.
