Adjustment to non-local mail registration service announced
***********************************************************

Hongkong Post announced today (December 17) that in response to new regulations set by the Universal Postal Union, with effect from January 1, 2026, registration service for non-local mail will be limited to mail containing documents only, and mail containing goods will no longer have such a service available. Local mail registration service remains unchanged.

To meet the different mailing needs of members of the public, Hongkong Post provides an array of services. After the new regulations take effect, customers sending non-local mail containing goods and require tracking can use the e-Express+ service which has a tracking feature covering over 200 destinations. For mail requiring a signature of receipt upon delivery, customers may use the Speedpost or parcel service.

As postal services available vary by destination, members of the public are advised to check the Hongkong Post website before posting (www.hongkongpost.hk/en/sending_mail/‌other_destinations/‌index.html). For enquiries, members of the public may call the Hongkong Post enquiry hotline at 2921 2222.
