Hongkong Post announced today (December 16) that selected philatelic products issued by China Post, Macao Post and Telecommunications and the postal administrations of New Zealand, Isle of Man, the United Kingdom and Australia will be available for sale from December 18 (Thursday).

China Post issued a set of 13 stamps and one stamp sheetlet themed "80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War". Featuring sculptures of the War of Resistance and taking historical photographs as background elements in the design, the 13 stamps focus on the 14-year course of the War of Resistance with important battles highlighted, primarily expressing the theme of "remembering history, honouring martyrs". The stamp sheetlet uses the logo of the commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War as the main scene, symbolising the theme of "cherishing peace, creating a great future".

Macao Post and Telecommunications also issued stamps on the theme of the "80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War". This issue comprises a set of two stamps that showcase the determination of the Chinese military and civilians during the war. The soldiers, heads held high and chests thrust out, march fearlessly towards peace, facing the bright direction in which the white doves fly. Featuring the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Great Wall in the backgrounds, the stamps commemorate the immortal contributions of the valiant anti-Japanese soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation and highlight their unwavering determination to defend the homeland.

China Post issued a set of four stamps and one stamp sheetlet on the theme of "Ancient Chinese Calligraphy - Seal Script (II)". The stamps feature five carefully selected cultural relics, conveying the millennium-old charm of seal script through bronze inscriptions and rubbings of stone-engraved texts.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the city's historic centre onto the World Heritage List, Macao Post and Telecommunications issued a set of stamps themed on the "20th Anniversary of the Historic Centre of Macao as World Heritage". The stamp set illustrates a number of invaluable architectural landmarks within the Historic Centre of Macao. While the four stamps depict Na Tcha Temple (next to the Ruins of St. Paul's College), Mount Fortress, St. Anthony's Church and forecourt, and St. Dominic's Church, the stamp sheetlet features the Ruins of St. Paul's College (former Mater Dei Church, forecourt and staircase). Macao Post and Telecommunications also issued a set of stamps on the theme of "Rare Animals in China". Themed on nationally protected wildlife, this stamp issue aims to awaken public concern for endangered species.
