The National Security Department (NSD) of the Hong Kong Police Force today (December 8) laid a charge against a 71-year-old man with one count of "prejudicing of investigation of offences endangering national security" and "knowingly publishing publications that had a seditious intention".

     The case will be mentioned at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (December 9) morning.

     The NSD took enforcement actions in Sheung Shui on December 6 and arrested the man.

     Police remind members of the public that "prejudicing of investigation of offences endangering national security" and "knowingly publishing publications that had a seditious intention" are serious offences. Offenders shall be liable to imprisonment for seven years upon conviction. Members of the public are urged not to defy the law.
