"I am profoundly grieved at the passing of Mr Ho, who lost his life in the course of an operation. I offer my deepest condolences to his family members," Mr Tang said.
Mr Tang also expressed sympathies to the family members of others who died in the fire and wished the injured people a speedy recovery.
Mr Tang said the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre has begun operating since this afternoon to co-ordinate efforts across departments to respond to and manage the impact of the fire. While the Fire Services Department is doing its utmost to put out the fire, Mr Tang said that the Security Bureau and its departments as well as other relevant departments also lend their full support and provide assistance to those being affected.
