2025 Legislative Council General Election - registration arrangements for voting at Near Boundary Polling Stations begin today
******************************************************************************************
The 2025 Legislative Council General Election will be held on December 7. Near Boundary Polling Stations (NBPSs) will be set up by the Registration and Electoral Office to facilitate the voting by electors in need. Any registered electors on the 2025 final registers of electors for geographical constituencies (GCs) and functional constituencies (FCs) can vote at specified NBPSs and timeslots after registration through "iAM Smart" or the online registration system (www.reo-form.gov.hk/nbps.htm) starting from today (November 19) until 6pm on December 2.

The REO will set up NBPSs respectively at Hong Kong Taoist Association Tang Hin Memorial Secondary School and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kap Yan Directors' College in Sheung Shui; the Arrival Hall, G/F, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port Passenger Clearance Building; and the Coach Hall of Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 2. If electors choose to vote at an NBPS in Sheung Shui, the system will automatically allocate them to vote at one of the NBPSs located in the two schools in Sheung Shui in accordance with their GCs. The allocated polling station will be clearly stated in the confirmation notice issued to the electors. The NBPSs will be open from 7.30am to 11.30pm on the polling day.

Electors who have registered to vote at the NBPSs in Sheung Shui may choose to walk for about five minutes from Sheung Shui MTR Station, or take a free shuttle bus arranged by the REO to reach their polling stations. The first shuttle bus will depart from Sheung Shui MTR Station at 7.30am, while the last bus will depart from the two schools at 11.45pm to return to the Sheung Shui MTR Station. The bus interval is about five minutes. Please refer to the annex or the dedicated election website (www.elections.gov.hk/legco2025/eng/ps_nbps.html) for the location of pick-up and drop-off points.

When registering online, electors are required to provide their names either in Chinese or English, Hong Kong identity card (HKID) number, mobile phone number which can receive SMS in Hong Kong or the Chinese Mainland, and email address (optional), before choosing a polling location and timeslot. Upon successful registration, electors will receive an SMS and/or email confirmation notice. Only upon receipt of the confirmation notice can electors cast their votes at the relevant NBPSs. If the phone number and/or email address provided by the electors during registration is/are different from the electors' particulars maintained by the REO, the REO will also inform the electors of their successful registration via the phone number and/or email address kept in the REO's records.

In case the electors who have registered to vote at NBPSs have to change their itineraries, they will need to cancel or change the registration through "iAM Smart" or the online registration system during the registration period (i.e. before 6pm on December 2). After cancellation, the electors will be changed back to their originally allocated polling stations for casting their votes on the polling day. If the registration period has already expired, the electors concerned will need to contact the REO at 2891 1001.

On the polling day, registered electors are required to bring along their HKID cards to vote at their NBPSs and timeslots as registered.

The NBPS arrangements are only applicable to GC and FC electors. Election Committee constituency (ECC) electors must vote at the ECC polling station at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Electors may log in to the Online Voter Information Enquiry System through "iAM Smart" or the Voter Registration website (www.vr.gov.hk) to check whether they are electors registered in the 2025 final registers.

For details of the NBPS arrangements, members of the public can visit the dedicated election website (www.elections.gov.hk/legco2025/eng/ps_nbps.html). For enquiries, please send an email to reoenq@reo.gov.hk or call the election hotline (2891 1001). The hotline operates from 8.45am to 6pm from Mondays to Fridays.
