Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tai Po today (November 16), in which a man died.

     At about 1.43pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 20-year-old man was travelling along On Pong Road westbound. When approaching 8 On Pong Road, it reportedly knocked down and ran over a 52-year-old man who was pushing a bicycle across On Pong Road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2.20pm.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
