Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

At about 11.46am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 42-year-old man was travelling along Tsing Kwai Highway towards Tsim Sha Tsui. When approaching near Mei Ching Road, the LGV reportedly went out of control and rammed into a kerb.
The LGV driver was trapped inside the LGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining no superficial injury, he was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state, and was certified dead at 1pm.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
