SEE to attend COP30 in Brazil

     The Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, will depart for Belém, Brazil, today (November 9) to join the Chinese delegation to attend the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).

     Mr Tse will attend meetings, side events and other activities of the COP30. During his visit to Brazil, Mr Tse will have bilateral meetings with other representatives to introduce the latest strategies and progress of Hong Kong's Climate Action Plan 2050.

     The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr Poon Kwok-ying; the Commissioner for Climate Change of the Environment and Ecology Bureau (EEB), Mr Arthur Lee; and officers from the EEB will also join the visit.

     Mr Tse will leave on November 13 (Belém time) and arrive in Hong Kong on November 15 (Hong Kong time). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Miss Diane Wong, will be the Acting Secretary for Environment and Ecology.
