This intelligence-led joint enforcement operation aimed at combating illegal activities of triad societies and organised crime syndicates, neutralising cross-boundary crimes, and interdicting the criminals’ source of income. Hong Kong Police arrested 4 140 persons and seized cash, dangerous drugs and illicit goods relating to illegal activities worth about $548 million in total in the operation.

During the operation, Hong Kong Police conducted searches at about 1,700 locations, successfully neutralised over 800 illegal premises including gambling dens, vice establishments, divans and unlicensed bars.

Throughout the operation, a total of 4 140 persons, including 2 454 men and 1 686 women, aged between 13 and 89, were arrested. Amongst them, 780 were Mainlanders and 557 were non-ethnic Chinese.      Hong Kong Police also seized numerous illegal items including offensive weapons, cash totaling $13.6 million suspected to be proceeds of crime, and dangerous drugs worth over $500 million, including etomidate, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.

Hong Kong Police would continue to maintain close liaison and exchange intelligence with the police authorities of the Mainland and Macao with a view to combating illegal activities of triad societies and organised crime syndicates, neutralising cross-boundary crimes, and interdicting the criminals’ source of income.
