New yearbook "Hong Kong 2024" goes on sale (with photo)
*****************************************************************
The publication provides readers with an overview of life in Hong Kong in the year 2024, covering the administration, legislature, legal system and economy, detailing the policies and achievements of the Government, as well as the developments of Hong Kong.
The cover illustration depicts Hong Kong's giant panda family which grew considerably after An An and Ke Ke, gifts from the Central Government, arrived in September last year and two cubs, Jia Jia and De De, were born at Ocean Park. These new arrivals sparked a citywide craze for giant pandas, creating business opportunities, attracting more visitors to Hong Kong, and fuelling economic development.
There are 10 photo sections, comprising over 110 photos. In addition to the giant panda family, other sections include the triumphs of Hong Kong athletes in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games; the celebrations as the People's Republic of China marked 75 years since its founding; the development of Hong Kong's Airport City; and an exploration of the newest designated country park, Robin's Nest.
"Hong Kong 2024", priced at $436, is available at the online Government Bookstore at www.bookstore.gov.hk and the Information Services Department's Publications Sales Unit at Room 626, 6/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. Orders can also be placed by:
