Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

At about 2.57pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Lai Yip Street towards Hoi Bun Road. When approaching the junction with Kwun Tong Road, it reportedly knocked down the 61-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.53pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is under way.
