Hospital staff and patients celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival together
******************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, some patients are unable to return home to reunite with their families for tomorrow's (October 6) special occasion. To address these patients' needs, the Hospital Authority (HA) has thoughtfully made efforts to celebrate the festival with patients, filling public hospitals with the joy of the season.

Across different hospitals, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations were organised, including hand-making red bean and purple sweet potato mooncakes for paediatric patients, presenting mooncakes to elderly patients with warm wishes, and setting up special festival lantern decorations in hospital for staff, patients and their families to take memorable photos. These activities brought hospital staff, patients and their families together in the spirit of reunion.

The HA extends its wishes for a speedy recovery to all patients and a joyous Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Cluster Chief Executive of the New Territories East Cluster, Dr Simon Tang (back row, fourth right), joined volunteers and colleagues in visiting the paediatric ward. They delivered handmade red bean and purple sweet potato mooncakes, special gift packs, and mooncake-shaped towels to young patients, bringing them the joy and warmth of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The healthcare team and volunteers of the Geriatric Day Hospital of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital accompanied elderly patients and carers in making lanterns and taking photos with the Mid-Autumn Festival decorations, sharing the greetings and warmth of the festive season.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, which symbolises family union, the Day Hospice Centre of the Department of Clinical Oncology in Tuen Mun Hospital specially set up a Lantern Celebration Wall for patients and their families to enjoy the festive atmosphere and join in the celebration. Patients and healthcare staff took photos together, filling the space with laughter and warmth.
