CEDB alerts public to deceptive content purported to be interviews with SCED

A spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau today (September 23) alerted members of the public to be on heightened vigilance against online deceptive advertisements purported to be interviews with the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development promoting an investment platform with a high return.

The spokesman strongly clarified that the so-called interviews and remarks are all fictitious. The incident has been referred to the Police for a follow-up investigation. Members of the public are urged not to visit any suspicious websites via such advertisements or provide personal information to unknown websites.
