Fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

At 8.38am, a private car driven by a 51-year-old woman was travelling along Lee On Road towards Shun Lee Estate. When approaching outside 32 Lee On Road, it reportedly knocked down a 66-year-old woman and a three-year-old boy who were crossing the road.
The 66-year-old woman sustained serious head injury and the boy sustained face and limb injuries. They were rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and conscious state respectively. The woman was certified dead at 9.26am.
After further investigations, the female driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. She is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is under way.
