Hongkong Post alerts public to fraudulent Hongkong Post website

     Hongkong Post today (September 10) appealed to members of the public to stay alert to a fraudulent Hongkong Post website address (https://maxibrant[.]com/HongKongPosthk19310529Tracking/) and beware of fraudulent SMS messages or emails purportedly to be sent by Hongkong Post which provided a hyperlink that leads to the fraudulent website above for requesting the recipient to provide personal information or payment for postage.

     Hongkong Post clarifies that it has no connection to the fraudulent website and has reported the case to the Police for follow-up. Hongkong Post reminded the public that its website address is (https://www.hongkongpost.hk), and Hongkong Post will only use "#HKPost" to send SMS messages to local subscribers of mobile phone services, and use the domain name "@hkpo.gov.hk" or "@hongkongpost.hk" to send emails. Hongkong Post reiterates that it will not send embedded hyperlinks via emails, SMS messages or social media platforms for collecting payments and personal information.
