Proposed installation works of Asia Link Cable - Hong Kong Bundle (ALC-HK Cable Bundle) Submarine Cable System gazetted

     The Government proposes to allow China Telecom Global Limited to install the Asia Link Cable - Hong Kong Bundle (ALC-HK Cable Bundle) Submarine Cable System within an area of approximately 1.84 hectares of foreshore and seabed from Chung Hom Kok to the eastern boundary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The extent of the area of foreshore and seabed affected is described in a notice gazetted today (August 22).

     The proposed works comprise the installation of a submarine cable system of approximately 36.8 kilometres in length and 130 millimetres in diameter. The proposed works are tentatively scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025 and are expected to be completed in approximately four months.

     The notice and its related plan are posted near the site. The plan is also available for inspection at:

     Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, within two months from the gazette date, i.e. on or before October 22. The objector shall describe in the notice of objection his interest, right or easement, and the manner in which he will be allegedly affected.
