Judicial appointment

The Judiciary today (August 13) announced the appointment of Ms Li Ying-yue as a Permanent Magistrate. The appointment is made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission. It will take effect from August 14, 2025.
The biographical note of Ms Li is as follows:
Ms Li was born in Hong Kong. She obtained an LL.B. from Durham University in the United Kingdom in 2007 and a P.C.LL. from the University of Hong Kong in 2008. She obtained an LL.M. in International Corporate & Commercial Law from the King's College London in the United Kingdom in 2020. She was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 2009 and has been in private practice from the same year.
