Proprietor fined for violation of safety legislation

     Good View Scaffold Equipment Limited was fined $214,000 at the Fanling Magistrates' Courts today (August 12) for violating the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Lifting Appliances and Lifting Gear) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on May 6, 2024, at an open yard in Yuen Long. A worker, while assisting in the truck-mounted crane lifting operation, was struck by metal boards that fell from the crane and died.
