Acting arrangement for S for Housing
************************************
The Housing Bureau announced that while the Under Secretary for Housing, Mr Victor Tai, was originally appointed as the Acting Secretary for Housing during the leave of the Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho, from July 26 to August 11, Mr Tai had to take leave from yesterday (July 27) until July 29 due to sickness. Given the sudden change of events and the absence of the Deputy Financial Secretary from Hong Kong, the Government has decided that the post of Secretary for Housing will be taken up by the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Cheuk Wing-hing, for those three days.
To enhance governance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the current-term Government created three Deputy Secretaries of Departments to strengthen co-ordination of work across bureaux. The acting arrangement fully demonstrates the positive role of the Deputy Secretaries of Departments in facilitating the Government's effective operation, reflecting the current-term Government's philosophy of improving governance through systematic enhancements, as well as the flexibility and team spirit of Principal Officials in making concerted efforts with one another.
