Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected liquid methamphetamine worth about $15 million at airport (with photo)

Customs officers yesterday (July 25) and today (July 26) inspected three air parcels, declared as carrying water-based essences and arriving from Mexico to Taiwan via Hong Kong, at HKIA. Upon examination, about 28 kilograms of suspected liquid methamphetamine was found concealed inside 256 plastic bottles of aromatic essence.
An investigation is ongoing.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
