DSD urges public to stay alert of flooding (with photos)
********************************************************

The storm surge caused by the approach of Severe Tropical Storm Wipha may lead to a rise in sea levels in Tai Po Kau. To cope with possible flooding, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) has installed temporary water-filled flood barriers at Po Yick Lane and Pak Shing Street near Kwong Fuk Bridge along Lam Tsuen River in Tai Po, and placed water pumps in the vicinity of Tai Po Market and Sam Mun Tsai New Village. The DSD has also provided sandbags at Kwong Fuk Road, Wai Yan Street, Nam Shing Street, On Fu Road, Plover Cove Road and Sam Mun Tsai New Village, etc for public use if needed.

The DSD urges members of the public to stay away from river channels and avoid passing by relevant locations. They may call the DSD's 24-hour drainage hotline at 2300 1110 to report blockage of public drainage channels or flooding to facilitate early handling by the DSD.
