Luen Yau Machinery Construction Company Limited was fined $160,000 at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (July 3) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on June 24, 2024, at the Yau Ma Tei Public Cargo Working Area. A worker died when struck by falling metal pipes while securing them on the deck of a lorry.
