Fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Hung Hom today (June 17), in which a woman died.
      
     At about 6.32am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) was travelling along Ping Chi Street southbound. When approaching a bus stop near Fat Kwong Street, it reportedly knocked down a 50-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman. The driver then fled the scene.
      
     The 50-year-old female pedestrian was trapped under the MGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injuries, she was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 7.10am. Sustaining hand and leg injuries, the 33-year-old female pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious state.
      
     After further investigations, a 34-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
