
Temporary closure of Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre and some facilities

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (May 30) that to facilitate the 15th National Games (NG), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG), the National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) will set up a Main Media Centre at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre (SYSMPSC). All facilities at SYSMPSC and its peripheral facilities will be temporarily closed from the following dates:

After the NG, NGD and NSOG conclude, the facilities will need to be restored and will gradually reopen for public use in the first quarter of 2026.
During the closure period, members of the public may consider using similar leisure and sports facilities at Hong Kong Park Sports Centre, Shek Tong Tsui Sports Centre, Sheung Wan Sports Centre and Smithfield Sports Centre.

Note: During the period when Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre is used as the Main Media Centre, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool and the promenade in Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park will remain open as usual. Members of the public may access and continue to use these facilities via the pedestrian walkway along Connaught Road West.
