LegCo Members meet with members of Eastern and Tsuen Wan District Councils (with photos)

     Legislative Council (LegCo) Members met with the Eastern District Council (DC) and Tsuen Wan DC members at the LegCo Complex today (April 25). They held in-depth discussions and exchanged views on issues related to community development and people's concern.

     During the meeting with the Eastern DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on various issues, including strengthening the Eastern District's capability and arrangements to cope with extreme weather, and understanding the latest progress of the improvement works of the stormwater drainage system in the Eastern District; waterfront development in the Eastern District and proposals to improve the facilities and management of the East Coast Boardwalk; as well as planning for community facilities in the district to meet the needs of residents.

     The meeting was convened by Mr Frankie Yick. A total of 22 Members attended the meeting including Mr Tommy Cheung, Mr Jeffrey Lam, Mr Chan Kin-por, Dr Lo Wai-kwok, Mr Shiu Ka-fai, Mr Robert Lee, Mr Lee Chun-keung, Mr Stanley Ng, Professor Chow Man-kong, Mr Edward Leung, Mr Kenneth Leung, Ms Chan Yuet-ming, Mr Rock Chen, Mr Chan Siu-hung, Mr Benson Luk, Mr Edmund Wong, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, Ms Carmen Kan, Dr So Cheung-wing, Mr Shang Hailong and Professor William Wong.

     As for the meeting with the Tsuen Wan DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on various issues, including the redevelopment plan for Tsuen Wan and exploring the possibility of increasing the planning plot ratio to enhance redevelopment incentives; the development and promotion of tourism resources and hotspots in the district to boost local economy and tie in with the concept of "tourism is everywhere"; as well as the proposed station location and related planning for the Central Rail Link, which connects Kam Tin of Yuen Long to Kowloon Tong, in the Tsuen Wan district.

     The meeting was convened by Dr Chan Han-pan. A total of 16 Members attended the meeting including Dr Lo Wai-kwok, Mr Lee Chun-keung, Dr Johnny Ng, Mr Andrew Lam, Mr Leung Man-kwong, Mr Kenneth Leung, Ms Chan Yuet-ming, Mr Rock Chen, Mr Chan Siu-hung, Ms Joephy Chan, Ms Lillian Kwok, Mr Benson Luk, Dr Tan Yueheng, Mr Shang Hailong and Professor Chan Wing-kwong.
