
Five building plans approved in February

The Buildings Department approved five building plans in February, with two on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and one in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial development, and one was for community services development.
In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 11 building projects which, when completed, will provide 15 150 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 333 units, and 24 868 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for four building projects.
The department also issued 17 occupation permits, with four on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 102 564 sq m involving 1 624 units, and 47 163 sq m was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in February totalled about $8.5 billion.
In addition, three demolition consents were issued.
The department received 3 483 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in February and issued 560 removal orders on UBWs.
