The Government today (April 11) announced the appointment of Mr Yang Kaiqiang as a member of the Labour Advisory Board (LAB) up to December 31, 2026, to fill a vacancy of an elected employee representative of the current term (2025-2026).
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, and the Commissioner for Labour and Chairman of the LAB, Ms May Chan, welcomed the above appointment.
"The LAB is a successful model of tripartite collaboration. I trust that Mr Yang and other LAB members will together keep up the fair and pragmatic spirit of the LAB in order to perform its important functions and contribute to the advancement of labour issues," said Mr Sun.
"The LAB is the most representative tripartite consultative body. Aspiring to build consensus for achieving a win-win situation for both employers and employees, the LAB has long addressed labour matters through a rational and pragmatic approach. I look forward to working closely with Mr Yang and other LAB members in improving employees' rights and benefits," said Ms Chan.
