The Hospital Authority (HA) today (April 9) renewed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the MOH Holdings Pte Ltd (MOHH) of Singapore to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in public hospital management and talent training, deepening co-operation between the two public healthcare systems.

The Chief Executive of the HA, Dr Tony Ko, said, "The HA and the MOHH first signed an MOU in 2013, establishing a collaboration framework on healthcare management for both places that has continued successfully to this day. As long-term strategic partners, the HA and the MOHH are pleased to renew this MOU for another three years until 2028, furthering our professional healthcare co-operation, management talent training and exchanges. We will continue our close collaboration in sharing expertise in public hospital management and policy development for medical services."

The Chief Executive Officer of the MOHH, Mr Anthony Tan, who led a delegation visiting Hong Kong, remarked that the renewed MOU will enhance co-operation between the two healthcare systems. "Singapore and Hong Kong are facing similar challenges of rapidly growing healthcare demands. The public healthcare systems in both places have much to learn from each other. We hope that enhanced experience sharing and technology exchange will inspire innovative thinking and jointly enhance the quality of healthcare services, sustainability, and operational efficiency for the benefit of the residents of both places."

During their Hong Kong visit, the MOHH delegation met with HA representatives for exchanges. HA representatives introduced the latest developments in cluster and public hospital management models, human resources policies and planning, hospital infrastructure management and development, talent nurturing and training, and career opportunities for non-locally trained doctors in the HA. Both parties exchanged views on sustainable development of public healthcare services and explored opportunities for collaboration between their healthcare systems.

The delegation also visited Kwong Wah Hospital to understand its hospital development. Representatives from the Kowloon Central Cluster presented the development progress of New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak Development Area. Additionally, the delegation will also visit Tseung Kwan O Hospital to learn about Hong Kong's smart hospital development experience.
