SLW to visit Kuala Lumpur to promote talent policy

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, will depart for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, tomorrow afternoon (April 10) to participate in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent Development Showcase organised by the Labour and Welfare Bureau and Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) to promote Hong Kong's opportunities and unique advantages under the "one country, two systems" principle of having the strong support of the country while maintaining unparalleled connectivity with the world as well as its diverse career prospects, with a view to attracting local talent to pursue their careers in Hong Kong.

     While in Kuala Lumpur, Mr Sun will also visit Universiti Malaya and call on officials from the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia and representatives of local chambers.

     The Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Clement Woo, and the Director of HKTE, Mr Anthony Lau, will join the trip together with a delegation comprising speakers of the showcase from various companies and industry associations, along with representatives of nearly 40 top companies from the Greater Bay Area.

     Mr Sun will return to Hong Kong on the evening of April 12. In his absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Ho Kai-ming, will be the Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
