Fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tin Shui Wai this morning (February 4), in which a man died.

     At around 6.46am, a motorcycle driven by a 54-year-old man was travelling along the second lane of Tin Shui Road towards Tin Wah Road. When approaching Tin Yan Estate, the motorcycle reportedly failed to stop in time and knocked down a 67-year-old man who was riding a bicycle and entering Tin Shui Road from the pavement on the left side.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the male cyclist was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.28pm. Sustaining head injuries, the motorcyclist was sent to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in conscious state and later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital.

     The motorcyclist was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is under way.
