Immigration Department fully supports passage of Safeguarding National Security Bill

     The Legislative Council passed the Safeguarding National Security Bill today (March 19), and the Director of Immigration, Mr Benson Kwok, welcomes this development. The entire staff of the Immigration Department (ImmD) will fully co-operate in implementing the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance, actively eliminating any risks to national security, and protecting the interests and well-being of the Hong Kong people.

     Mr Kwok emphasises that he will continue to lead the ImmD with the departmental values of "patriotism and perservance", and exert every effort to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests. The ImmD will continue to safeguard the country's southern gateway to the world, by strictly adhering to all applicable laws and current immigration policies in all immigration matters, ensuring the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
