     The Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Xia Baolong, continued his inspection visit to Hong Kong and inspected the city's district governance today (February 24).
 
     In the morning, accompanied by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, and the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Miss Alice Mak, Mr Xia commenced his inspection of the latest situation of district governance in the New Territories, starting with having morning tea with district personalities at a restaurant in Tseung Kwan O, where he learned about the situation of the local district and interacted and exchanged views with them on local livelihood issues.

     Mr Xia then visited the Sai Kung District Office and had an engagement session with the District Officer (Sai Kung) and Chairman of the Sai Kung District Council, Miss Kathy Ma, as well as members of the District Council, where he listened to their sharing of views on the planning and implementation of district services in Sai Kung.

     At noon, Mr Xia, still accompanied by Mr Lee and Miss Mak, had a working lunch with the chairmen of the 18 District Councils to interact with them and exchange views on district governance issues.

     In the afternoon, Mr Xia, in the company of Mr Lee and the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, visited the Lion Rock Park in Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon, and took in an up-close view of the Lion Rock, which symbolises the Hong Kong spirit of resilience and solidarity. 

     Mr Xia will continue his inspection visit to Hong Kong tomorrow (February 25).
