The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (London ETO) and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Sweden co-hosted a Year of the Dragon reception in Stockholm, Sweden, on February 21 (Stockholm time).

The evening reception started with a business seminar, where four speakers from the Swedish business community shared their insights on the "Swedish lifestyle experience in Hong Kong". In his welcome speech, the Director-General of the London ETO, Mr Gilford Law, gave the Swedish community an update on the latest developments of Hong Kong. In particular, he highlighted the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's initiatives to dovetail with national strategies and enhance the development of the "Eight Centres".

Elaborating on Hong Kong's vision of becoming an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchanges, Mr Law introduced the latest world-class arts and cultural facilities in Hong Kong, including the West Kowloon Cultural District, the M+ museum, and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. "Hong Kong will, in the first half of 2024 alone, roll out over 80 mega events of various natures. We invite you to experience and enjoy Hong Kong's unique cultural landscape," he said.

The reception was well attended by over 180 guests from the local business, academic and cultural sectors as well as the Chinese community. The London ETO will continue to celebrate the Year of the Dragon among the countries under its purview.
