Appointment of self-recommended youth members to Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene
******************************************************************************************
The Government announced today (December 29) the appointment of two young members to the Advisory Council on Food and Environmental Hygiene through the Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth (MSSY) from December 12, 2023, to March 31, 2025.

The two young members are Miss Chan Kwan-yee and Dr Vivian Hui Chi-ching. Miss Chan is the ESG & Carbon Footprint Manager of a sustainable aquaculture company. Dr Hui is an Assistant Professor of the School of Nursing, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Pittsburgh.

The Council is a non-statutory body established on April 1, 2000, to advise the Government on food and environmental hygiene issues.  Furthermore, the Government regularly recruits young persons aged between 18 and 35 who are eager to serve the community to join the Government's advisory committees through the MSSY with a view to providing more opportunities for young people to participate in policy discussion.
