********************************************
The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Lam Sai-hung, led a delegation comprising more than 10 members of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council to continue their visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, today (October 12).

Mr Lam, together with the delegation, attended a business luncheon to promote Hong Kong's advantages in logistics to the local industry. "Vietnam has always been one of the closest trading partners of Hong Kong and the Mainland. In recent years, Vietnam has experienced rapid economic growth, Hong Kong's logistics service providers can offer customised logistics solutions for Vietnamese enterprises. As the most open international city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), Hong Kong, leveraging the distinctive advantages of enjoying the Mainland's strong support and being closely connected to the world, can assist Vietnamese products in entering the GBA and the neighbouring regions' markets, creating unlimited business opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises", Mr Lam said at the luncheon.

He added that Hong Kong has attracted approximately 30 strategic enterprises to set up or expand their operations in the territory. The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region looks forward to establishing closer partnerships with Vietnam. He extended an invitation to Vietnamese enterprises to visit Hong Kong to gain firsthand knowledge of the latest developments in the city.

During their visit to Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation led by Mr Lam met with representatives from the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam, to explore co-operation opportunities and to understand the Vietnam business environment. They also visited a large-scale smart logistics park in Ho Chi Minh City to inspect its facilities and operations.
