Renowned choreographer Hofesh Shechter's latest work "Double Murder" to open New Vision Arts Festival (with photos)

Following his critically acclaimed 2014 performance in Hong Kong, internationally celebrated Israeli-British choreographer Hofesh Shechter will kick off this year's New Vision Arts Festival (NVAF) with his latest work, "Double Murder", to be staged October 20 and 21 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The spectacle will be performed by his dance group, Hofesh Shechter Company.
Consisting of two halves of distinctly contrasting styles, the thrilling double bill dance performance "Double Murder" delves into Shechter's views on life and death, offering audiences a chance to wander through a murderous battlefield and a spiritual heaven. One half of the evening consists of "Clowns", a sarcastic nod to the ever-growing indifference to violence. The second half, "The Fix", brings heart-warming energy to the stage, conveying the message that only hope can counter loneliness and division.
Shechter is recognised as one of the most exciting artists in stage work today, renowned for composing musical scores of pulsating rhythms to complement the outrageous physicality of his dance work. He founded Hofesh Shechter Company in 2008 and is now the Artistic Director of this United Kingdom-based dance company. With elite dancers from around the world, Hofesh Shechter Company has become one of the most sought-after dance companies on the international stage. The group has performed in many cities worldwide including Paris, New York, Melbourne, Tokyo, Berlin, and more.
