Resumption of Transport Department services
*******************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (October 9) announced that services provided in the TD's Licensing Offices at Admiralty, Cheung Sha Wan, Kwun Tong and Sha Tin as well as the Public Vehicles Unit, the Cross Boundary Unit and the Driving Test Appointment Office, will resume within two hours upon the Hong Kong Observatory's announcement of lowering of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8. The services of Vehicle Examination Centres, driving test services of Driving Test Centres and the Written Test Centre will continue to be suspended in the afternoon.

For applicants who have made an appointment for driving licence-related services, renewal of a vehicle licence, transfer of vehicle ownership, application for an international driving permit, or retention, transfer or assignment of vehicle registration mark, at any time slot today while the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 was in force or within two hours after the lowering of the signal, they may proceed to the Licensing Offices to submit their applications during opening hours (from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday) on or before October 16 without the need to make another appointment.

Moreover, members of the public with their vehicle examination scheduled for today can apply to the relevant Vehicle Examination Centres for a free rescheduling after the services resume.

Candidates scheduled for a driving test (including road test and written test) today will be individually informed of the alternative arrangements.
