This press release summarises the Communications Authority (CA)'s decision made in September 2023.
Revisions to the Generic Code of Practice on Television Technical Standards

Since all the television programme services that are subject to the Generic Code of Practice on Television Technical Standards (viz. domestic free television programme service, domestic pay television programme service and non-domestic television programme service) no longer use analogue television system as a means of transmission, and in view of the latest international technical standards on the loudness control for digital television services, the CA has decided to revise the Code accordingly. The revised Code takes effect upon gazettal today (October 6). Please refer to the CA's website (www.coms-auth.hk/filemanager/common/policies_regulations/cop/code_tvtech_e.pdf) for the revised Code.
