SCST congratulates Yang Qianyu on winning gold at Asian Games

     The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, today (October 4) congratulated Yang Qianyu on winning a gold medal in the Road Cycling: Women's Road Race event at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou (Asian Games). This is the seventh gold medal won by the Hong Kong, China Delegation at this Asian Games. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong, China Delegation has so far captured 47 medals at the Asian Games this year, breaking the record of 46 medals at the last Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
 
     Mr Yeung said, "Driven by her unyielding spirit, Yang Qianyu remained calm during the competition and gained victory. We are exhilarated and thrilled. The Hong Kong, China Delegation has been attaining remarkable achievements. We fully support Hong Kong athletes to continue to strive for excellent results."
      
     Of the 47 medals won by the Hong Kong, China Delegation so far, there have been seven golds, 15 silvers and 25 bronzes at this Asian Games. The list of medals won today as at 2pm are as follows:
