Assessment Committee for the Funding Scheme to Support Transitional Housing Projects by Non-Government organisations convenes meeting (with photos)

     A meeting of the Assessment Committee for the Funding Scheme to Support Transitional Housing Projects by Non-government Organisations (the Funding Scheme), chaired by the Under Secretary for Housing, Mr Victor Tai, was convened this afternoon (September 28). 
 
     The Assessment Committee agreed to subsidise a transitional housing development through conversion of vacant residential flats at a tenement building in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, by the Social Ventures Hong Kong Foundation Limited. With a total funding of $0.8 million, the project is expected to provide four units.
 
     As at the end of September 2023, the Funding Scheme has approved a total funding amount of about $10.105 billion for 53 transitional housing projects. The Housing Bureau welcomes non-government organisations to continue to apply for the Funding Scheme to provide more transitional housing for needy families through conversion of suitable and vacant residential or non-residential buildings.
