Judicial appointment

The Judiciary today (September 27) announced the appointment of Ms Wong Man-ni as a Permanent Magistrate. The appointment is made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission. It will take effect on September 28, 2023.
The biographical note of Ms Wong is as follows:
Ms Wong was born in Hong Kong. She obtained an LL.B. and a P.C.LL., both from the University of Hong Kong, in 2006 and 2007 respectively. She obtained a Master of Social Sciences in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong in 2016. She was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2009. She joined the Department of Justice as a Government Counsel in 2009 and was promoted to Senior Government Counsel in 2017.
